Blown in on a Mid West southerly, The Alexia Parenzee Band is a soulful roots collective hailing from regional Western Australia. Fronted by award-winning singer-songwriter Alexia Parenzee, the five-piece is known for their salt-of-the-earth sound, a blend of blissful acoustic grooves, buttery melodies, and earthy beats.
Expect grooves that hit like a crisp single fin on a balmy afternoon, and a band that feels like a homecoming after a long drive. Honest, grounded and musically rich, The Alexia Parenzee Band offers a truly soulful experience shaped by the spirit of the land they come from.
Rolling into 2025, Alexia follows on from several successful state-wide WA tours, including major support slots with award-winning musicians Kim Churchill and Busby Marou respectively. This closely followed the launch of her debut EP 'Retrospect' which has garnered substantial radio airplay across the country including song premieres with Triple J, ABC, RTRFM, and 4ZZZ.
This year the musician has placed as a semi-finalist for international songwriting competition Unsigned Only, while the group won their first national songwriting award (Australian Songwriting Association's National Songwriting Contest - Best Contemporary category) in November 2024, and named a national semi-finalist for the Australia Songwriter Prize (Listen Up).
The talented WA artist has recently shared stages with international stars Babe Rainbow, Aussie icons like Stella Donnelly, Katy Steele (Little Birdy), Busby Marou, Winterbourne (NSW), Kim Churchill, Abbe May, Tia Gostelow (QLD), Great Gable, the illustrious Grace Barbé and many more.
Along with her 4-piece outfit, Alexia has also featured on a multitude of iconic WA festival stages recently, including the Perth Festival, Fremantle Arts Centre, Hidden Treasures Festival, Nannup Music Festival, Fairbridge Folk Festival and WAM (WA Music) showcases, among a few.
And the horizon looks bright for this soulful roots group, who are currently working on their sophomore EP, set for release in 2026, which will see the band make their national debut into Australia's roots music landscape.
